Overview
TCGCardle is a free, browser-based card-guessing game inspired by Wordle and themed around Magic: The Gathering. We do not require an account, we do not ask for your email, and we do not build user profiles. This policy explains the small amount of data the site does handle so you can make an informed decision about playing it.
Information We Collect
We do not collect personally identifying information. We track anonymous, aggregated gameplay events (for example, "a Daily round was started", "a guess was submitted") to understand how the game is used. These events do not contain your name, email, IP address, or any data that could be used to identify you.
We also store a small amount of game state in your browser's local storage so you can resume a Daily or Challenge round after a refresh. That storage stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
Cookies & Tracking
TCGCardle itself does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The analytics we use (Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine) records events server-side without setting identifiers in your browser.
If, in the future, we enable advertising (for example, Google AdSense), those ads may set cookies to measure performance or personalize what you see. When that happens, we will display a consent banner so you can choose whether to allow personalized ads, and this page will be updated to reflect the change.
Third-Party Services
-
Scryfall — card images and the underlying card database are
sourced from Scryfall. Your browser fetches images directly from Scryfall's CDN
(
cards.scryfall.io) when a guess or reveal is shown. - Google Fonts — the Cinzel and JetBrains Mono fonts load from Google's font CDN.
- Cloudflare — the site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process minimal request metadata for security and delivery purposes.
- Affiliate links — outbound links to MTG marketplaces (such as Cardmarket) may include a referrer ID. We may earn a small commission if you make a purchase. These links do not change the price you pay.
Children's Privacy
TCGCardle is suitable for general audiences, but we do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information through the contact email, let us know and we will delete it.
Your Rights
Because we do not store personal data tied to you, most privacy rights (access, deletion, portability) are satisfied by default. If you want to clear the local game state stored in your browser, you can do so by clearing site data for tcgcardle.com in your browser settings.
If you are in the European Union (GDPR), United Kingdom (UK GDPR), Brazil (LGPD), or California (CCPA/CPRA), and you believe a regulation applies to data we do not appear to handle, please reach out to the contact email below and we will look into it.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this policy if the site changes — for example, if we add advertising or new third-party integrations. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent change.
